Meghan Fallon is a Western Massachusetts-based artist whose practice moves fluidly between abstraction, impressionism, and expressionism. Working with acrylic paint, oil pastels, pencil, and charcoal, she creates layered compositions that emerge through intuitive observation and emotional response. Inspired by music, nature, literature, and the dialogue between inner and outer worlds, Fallon’s work explores atmosphere, movement, and feeling through expressive mark making, rich texture and color. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and venues across the Pacific Northwest and Western Massachusetts.
The paintings in this collection, Where the Light Changes, explores questions.
Does our inner world reflect our outer world? Are the stories we tell ourselves based on reality? Given the circumstances we have been handed, what choices will we make? Can we allow the unexpected to occur without controlling the outcome? Can we trust ourselves and the world around us? Do our actions display who we think and say we are? Where do our habits and addictions come from? Can we hold on and let go at the same time? Is a state of balance possible? Is our perception limited to individual scope, or can we expand our perception through connecting with people and nature? Do our most challenging struggles also provide our greatest opportunities for growth? Can we be vulnerable and resilient? What are we really capable of?
What would happen if we stopped trying so hard to become, fix, control, fill, protect, or escape—and allowed ourselves to be?
